Backend Software Engineer
I build backend systems that handle data at scale.
Four years of production Python: REST APIs, relational databases, background workers, and the batch infrastructure behind dataset pipelines, computer‑vision services, and LLM‑driven tooling. From a 3M‑image dataset factory to a 74M‑record publishing platform. Based in Nairobi, Kenya.

About
A backend engineer with a data-heavy specialty
I'm a software engineer based in Nairobi, Kenya. The core of my work is backend: REST APIs, relational schemas, background workers, and services built to stay up. On top of that sits an applied-AI specialty: dataset pipelines for model training, computer-vision services, and the infrastructure that keeps large batch jobs running unattended for days at a time.
Most of what I build doesn't have a UI. It's the layer underneath: schemas, queues, retry logic, checkpointing, authority resolution. The unglamorous work that decides whether a system actually holds up at scale.
